Still Questions?

If you still have questions after you have read the information available, you should consult the Website Baker Forum. Before you post, please take a view minutes to go through the checklist below.

Checklist before posting in the forum

The list below gives a brief impression of the different aspects where your help would be appreciated:

  • Have you viewed the information available on the WB Help project site?
The search function on the left side may help you.
  • Is your problem really related to Website Baker?
Problems related to server settings, rendering issues (CSS/HTML) are not related to WB. Hence these types of problems have no place in a WB support forum!! If you are not sure if the problem is related to WB, please type the problem description into the Google search. If no WB site is listed in the top 20, your problem is most likely not related to WB.
  • Have you consulted Google?
Please check Google for your error message before posting in the forum. This helps isolate or to describe the error more clearly.
  • Have you searched the WB forum for similar issues?
Yes, we now the forum is messy. However, most likely there is already a solution to your problem posted in the forum. Please take the time to search the forum first.
Note: The "Advanced Search" lists more hits than the default forum search.

If all questions above can be answered with YES, you should consult the Website Baker forum. The comments below should help you to phrase your question the right way.

Raising the right question

Unfortunately, most of the questions raised in the forum lack the complete information required to answer those questions. All too often, the moderators need to ask several times before the problem is understood. By following the tips below, you can help to avoid this misunderstanding from the beginning.

  1. If you do only understand German, French or Italian, please post in those sub boards only!!!
  2. All posts outside those sub boards have to be made in English!!!
  3. Check which boards best fits your problem. Only post to this board.
  4. Use a meaningful subject. The subject should contain your problem. Please do not use subjects like: HELP - PLEASE
  5. Define your problem as precise as possible.
The following information should be covered in any question:
    • Your Website Baker version
    • Have you changed the original WB core files?
    • What is the operating system you are using (e.g. Win XP, Linux)?
    • Which server system (Apache, Windows 2003 Server) are you using?
    • Provide a link to your homepage, to help others to understand your problem (http://www.mydomain.com)

    Note:
If you are not sure about the required information, create a new page of type code and add the code contained in this text file. Copy the results of the analysis script to a textfile (e.g. result.txt) and attach this to your post in the forum.
  6. Make use of the formats and styles provided by the forum itself
    • bold, italic
    • images tell more than words
(the forum allows to add external images)
    • Make use of the [code]...[code] tags for PHP, HTML, or JS code
(tag features syntax highlightying which makes your code easier to read)
    • Do not post 100 text lines, it limits the number of people who will take the time to read through it. Make use of attachments instead (allowed format: ZIP- and text files)
    • do not use more than 1-2x smileys per post
Note:
Questions posed in the proper format and proper board have the highest chances for a righ answer.

If you follow this guidelines, your questions will be answered.

Have fun
